I picked this little vessel up some years ago, I liked it's size(and price)and the red patina was kind of cool it's a little bit rough around the edges and one side and the bottom is blackend for some reason. Perhaps something was burned in it in the past. There are no marks but it's good work. It measures 2 1/2" tall with 3" across on top this first image is the side that has no black. Any ideas? Anyone seen anything like it before?

The blackend side, it detracts from the look but I just turn it toward the wall!

Dano,

Can you post an image of the underside? I have a gut feeling it is one of Cobre's Arts & Crafts pieces. The rim looks thick and is common with what they produce. The decoration is similar to what OMKK and the older Craftsman Studio was using.

Looks like CS to me.
I have not seen any vases with this design but I have numerous desk items that incorporate the same design.
Very cool...

The red color made me think Cobre as well but they usually mark their items and I have yet to see them do anything more than just pounding out the shape, the design element was what drew me to it, it is on 4 spots around the piece the bottom is completely black but it isnt applied, it looks like repeated heat has been applied like a tea kettle. I dont have any images of the bottom, will have to take some and size them when I get the chance.
