I'm hoping someone can point me to reproduction flatware or flatware being created now in the Arts & Crafts style. (If this isn't the correct group for this inquiry, I'd appreciate suggestions where I should look.)

Hello Denise and welcome to the forum. I have seen a few stainless steel sets of flatware in what I would consider the A&C style. One looks much like the 14th century sterling flatware produced by Shreve. At our home we use a simple hammered Reed & Barton pattern called Old English

MICHAEL FITZSIMMONS DECORATIVE ARTS offers a set of hammered flatware that looks nice.

Fair Oaks Workshops also offers a set of hammered flatware.

The is also a Ginkgo pattern that has an Arts & Crafts Movement look.

We searched far and wide and did many comparisons until we settled for Williams and Sonoma's Provencal flatware http://www.williams-sonoma.com/products/f056/index.cfm?pkey=cftwprvi. It's big and heavy, similar to Victorian-era flatware, but every bit A&C. We've been well-pleased with this and would recommend it to others.

Regards,

Dave

I have the Reed & Barton flatware, it is Hammered Antique. Really lovely, very Arts and Crafts, nice and heavy. Fitzsimmons and Fair Oaks Workshops are the same folks (Fair Oaks is the mail order operation), and the pattern they offer IS the Reed and Barton Hammered Antique. Michael's price isn't too bad, and he is a great dealer well worth supporting, but if you are looking for the best deal QVC currently has a 44 pc set (8 settings and the server set) for 214.50.

Also check department stores. My mother bought mine as a gift at something like 60% of retail.

Dave,
My wife and I also have the Reed and Barton set. We acquired it at our supermarket with each piece being offered at a weekly discount. I was thrilled to be able to pick and choose what we wanted and since have acquired separate pieces on eBay.

Hi Fred and Dave,

We couldn't find the particular Reed and Barton flatware you two are talking out -- we're in Canada. However, the hammered A&C Provencal flatware we purchased at Williams and Sonoma is actually made by Reed and Barton for W&S, and is marked as such.

Good evening erobbins,
Welcome to the Arts and Crafts Forum and we hope you will keep coming back, however the topics on these forums are strictly for Arts and Crafts information and your post in the Arts and Crafts Movement forum was anything but Arts and Crafts when you were talking about women being only 3% in the field of business.

I had to delete it because of the nature of the article and the advertisement link you posted.

Respectfully,

Ralph Jones Master Administrative Group
