I attended a symposium in Yuma this weekend and visited a local antique mall and found this treasure in a cabinet. This is the second Heintz chamberstick in my collection. I am thrilled.

Don,
I paid the asking price of $20. I was very pleased. It is in pretty good shape with original patina probably removed. I will take images of the trays I have. I plan on posting images of my collection periodically to spark interest and comment. Here is an image from my resource library of images. Fred Fred (Moderator) http://fredz49.blogspot.com/ ![]() |

Here is a try I bought years ago. These trays are such great compositions and they would make a delightful display and collection. I hope one day David Surgan will print a documentation of his collection for all to appreciate.

The chamberstick is awesome! You are so lucky to pick that up for only $20. Congratulations.
I have started looking at metalwork at all the antique shops these days because of this forum. I have learned enough about the patina, style, shop marks of A & C metal work that I sort of know what to buy. So far no treasures, just junk. It now takes me a long, long time to go through an antique store. I would be thrilled to find something like that. Good work. Please post pictures of more of your collection. Bev. |

the tray i bought had also been cleaned at some point, so original patina is gone. i paid $85. how does that compare to average price of your trays.
would you want to trade mine for the gingko one? i have a special fondness for gingko stuff. wishfull thinking anyway...... |

Don,
Not all the images I have posted are mine. Some are from the image reference library I have. The ginko plate is not mine. Sorry. These plates sell anywhere between $60-150. A recent auction sold a grouping of 8 trays for under $300. They are very collectable and do not take much space. Fred Fred (Moderator) http://fredz49.blogspot.com/ |
