Hard to tell... Not certain how the safe would be held. In the slot? Perhaps it was just a handle.,, I have not seen this on other ashtrays. I suspect it was a rest for the cigarette/cigar.

This is a bit deep for an ashtray perhaps it is a container. I like the decoration around the edge.

RICO, Are any of these last pieces signed?

It's great that you found these additional images.

It also appears that your bowl/tray is has the slotted bar that this new example is missing.
