I would be grateful if anyone could tell me a little about a company trading under the name of A.E. Poston & Co Ltd? I recently came across a lovely pewter bowl (perhaps a sugar bowl - but a little too big I feel) which I believe to be arts & crafts-inspired, and would very much like to find out the date, whether through information regarding when the company was trading, or any other way that people might know of. The full mark on the bowl is, 'A.E. Poston & Co. Ltd, London, Real English Pewter', with a pattern reference number 1093. I am a complete novice regarding pewter, and the arts & crafts period is not really my main interest or something that I have any great knowledge about. I would guess the piece is 1910-25, but that is pure speculation. It has 'hammer work' (if that is the right phrase) around the bulk of the main body and the lid too. Any help that can be given would be WARMLY appreciated.

...appears to have also worked in sterling with obviously much higher prices; found one listing suggesting still in business ca1960...but nothing found really on the history of the company
