Hammered copper box. 6"x2".5x4"d By S.H. Foulks jr.
Hand signed: made in miami by S.H. Foulks jr Done in the prairie style. Resembles the boxs that the Benedict Studio made. Notice all the verdigris and red oxidation colours. Just the way you want to find these. The craftsmanship of this box is just as high as some of the great makers of it's time. Check out the hand tooled rivets! But who was S.H. Foulks jr.? This artist like many others fell through the cracks of time. If it wasn't for this one box he would have been forgotten for all times. Enjoy! c1910  |
