Hi, I am trying to find out about 2 identical toast racks I found in a dumpster. The first mark is W.S&S. the 2nd mark is best described as a very simplistic tree. the 3rd mark is EPNS. The 4th mark is A1. the 5th mark is 654. Under this says made in England. On the other cross bar is another stamp: Wm Drummond & Co Melbourne, which i have been able to find out was a jewellers established in 1858, the presented the Queen & the Queen mother with jewels. I think it might be early 1900's the apex of the racks come to a fairly sharp point.

EPNS stands for Electro Plated Nickle Silver. I have not found a maker W.S&S yet.

I'll endeavour to get a photo, my camera's not great on deatail, bear with me,thanks for quick response. I did find a Wihelm Schniller & Son, they were founded in Czechoslovakia 1829 as Gerbing and Schiller they split in 1885 and became Wihelm Schniller & Son which closed down in 1914, the only thing is they worked in ceramics. I have found the makers mark they used on their ceramics, the font style is the same, but the edge of the stamp is much plainer on the toast racks. Between my first post and now, I have emailed a lady in Europe to see whether they ever made wax castings,I could be on a completely wrong track here, but we'll see.
