Bienvenido to the forum Felihas,
Your lamp is a rare lamp buy one of Califoria's more creative women designers and coppersmiths. With your permission I will post some of the images directly onto the forum for all to see. I suspect the value will be high. If you are intersted in selling it I can make suggestions of Auction Houses who would love to handle the lamp for you. I knew because one of your images was titled "copiade...." I speak fluent Spanish.
It is important not to be in a rush to sell your lamp. First... DO NOT CLEAN it in any way other than dusting! You can reduce it's value by half if you make this mistake. It looks original right now. Second... Is the lamp marked as you show? I noticed you copied another image someone else had posted some time ago. Is the mark the same? Your best deal is to have the lamp auctioned at a well known auction house like Rago or Treadway. This can take months to complete and this gives you the best oportunity to get the highest price for your lamp. Unless you can find a collector who is willing to pay what you ask. I will post adresses and names for you to contact shortly. How did you come to own this lamp? How tall and wide? Auction results: Treadway May 23, 1999 13" lamp with shell shade. $5000.00 Treadway May 7, 2006 Lamp with shell shade. $3500.00 Your lamp could also bring a price similar to these. Remember that the economy is not good and yet there are collectors out there who are willing to pay whatever they need to get quality items. Best, Fred Fred (Moderator) http://fredz49.blogspot.com/ |

This gets better and better. Do you have any images of your mother or grandmother with the lamp? Or do you know where your Grandmother acquired it? Provenance is always a bonus when you want to sell an item. I look forward to seeing the pictures. Would love to see the underside of the shade as well. We love to see images. This is how we all learn and share.
