Hi, all !
I just purchased a large lot of Arts and Crafts metalware at the estate auction of a deceased antique dealer. In this lot, I found a desk set which has pieces marked "Burton" and "Wrought by Hand". These are beautiful desk accessories, in hammered copper and are obviously done by a highly skilled crafter.
My question-does anyone know what Elizabeth Eaton Burton's mark looked like on her small metalware ? I can't find out anything about this. I would appreciate any help I can get.
Thanks !

Welcome to the forum.

I have never seen Burton's mark. Perhaps you could post an image of the desk set and the marks, the images might help us give some attribution. Antiques Magazine published an article about Ms Burton and I do not recall seeing any marks use by her.

That is a great desk set and I love the Burton mark. I wish I could give you difinative attribution to Elizabeth Burton. Some of the California dealers may be able to give you a better answer. Her work is not common and do not often appear in auction catalogues.

I will see what I can find out from friends.
