This humidor was given to me by my grandfather who travelled extensively in the SWest. It is 7 iches high and about 5 wide. 2 beautiful indian chief heads on eithe side and the headdress is silver. I have not been able to find anything like it anywhere or anyone who has an idea as to its origin. it has "copper and silver" stamped on the bottom as well as a number 7. Thoughts?
There are several possibilities as to the maker of your humidor. Shreve of San Fransisco comes to mind first. Could you post images of the marks? A very nice find.
Best, Fred

I have nice some unsigned iron bookends with a similar Chief. I don't find the website now (maybe Dalton's?) but I seem to recall that the same bookends were shown as being by Benedict or Onondaga on the website. Hope this helps.
I have a few desk pieces with the same copper and silver mark (or brass and silver). I sent pictures to Jerry Cohen of Craftsman Auctions and he told me they were made by Joseph Heinrichs. Hi quality stuff. I'll try to post pics tomorrow.
