I have obtained this Roycroft pen tray (middle mark) and was wondering if anyone has seen this design before. I did see this brass overlay design on a Roycroft box (rarely seen etruskan linewith a verdgris patina) in one of Kevin McConnell's books, but other than that I have not seen any other piece like it. My sister-in-law was using it on the top of her kitchen stove as a spoon holder. I think it lost some of its patina in her dishwasher. She did give it to me having no idea what I was talking about when I told her that it was Roycroft.
Has anyone come across any of these peices? (see photos)

Hello Jeff,

Very nice pen tray, it is the Etruskan design and the patina would have been more of a green patina. If you visit the Roycroft site you will find bookends and a box with that design.

Very nice find !!

Jeff,

A great piece and it is a shame it has lost it's original patina. Still a rather rare pattern for Roycroft.
