I am hoping to find out some info on a old silver tea set that my Grandmother has passed on to me. My first question is if anybody knows what the best cleaner/polish for this as I do not want to damage it, I think it is quite old.. Also does anyone know any information re the markings and name on this set? It has a lamp stamped on the bottom and says James Deakin & Sons LTD M4438 I also have the cream and sugar pieces to go with it. I can provide pictures if needed. Thanks in advance.

This forum does not cover the period of your silverplate teaset nor is likely in the Arts & Crafts Style. A Google search showed that James Deakin & Sons was a Birmingham, England firm that made silverplated items during the mid to later part of the 19th Century. I suggest you do a similar search and check out ebay auctions.
