...is the same lamp this other guy had a few weeks ago, and this was the guy with the bogus photocopied furniture tags and other copper pieces that he pulled early, that we discussed in another thread:

Look closely at the mark and the patina pattern - same lamp.

The current seller uses the old tricks of attributing it to Stickley, posts a high sounding Buy it Now and runs it as a private sale, so you can't send messages or warnings to bidders, and maybe he uses his friends to push the price up towards his high-ish reserve, then hopes when the reserve is met that an innocent bidder steps in and gets burned for several hundred dollars and a bogus lamp.

Based on prices for authentic Gus copper lamps, it should have been scooped up at the Buy it Now price.

Well the lamp made the reserve and someone just got burned for 400.

Here's another one - weak quality tray and look closely at the stamp (use the 'larger picture') - there's no point on the bottom of the right arm of the joiners compass!

...plus here's another interesting one, looks like a cool candlestick, has a Gus mark, but read the description. Obviously they asked Rago about it and they say that Rago doesn't think its a unique item - which says to me he doesn't think its even Gus - at least this stamp has the point on the right arm

...both of these marks are actually very similar, except for the point, in that a bit of the outline is missing. more or less the same in each one. Coincidentally the part that is missing looks very similar to the part that is missing on the authentic mark displayed on benedictstudios.com; meaning this could be the mark that has been copied..

..maybe I'm reading too much into all this but like the lamp, the tray should have been snapped up instantly at the Buy It Now if it was legit..
