during last weekends storms i needed something to do while watching severe weather reports, so i did this.
took about hour and a half to tool. 5x7 image area. |

yes, 36 gauge hobby shop foil.
i have found several sources for 20 or 16 gauge, so i think i will order some. havent found any local source. i'm sure there is, just dont know where to look. thought about copper roofers. they must use close to 20 gauge or heavier, dont you think? |

I would check with your local scrap metal recycler and see what they have. The roofers will probably carry 24gauge. They might call it 16gauge and what they mean is 16 ounce gauge (meaning that a square foot of the metal weighs 16 ounces. They may even carry heavier stock if you ask.
