Here's an excellent rare Karl Kipp buttress vase that should bring around $3000-3500 with not to much trouble.

Mark,

It is a great and fairly rare piece that the Roycroft collectors would love to own. I suspect you are correct on the final price.

I have been watching it since it first was posted.

Hi Fred,

I'm one of the hundreds if not thousands of collectors out there that would love to own it, but can't afford that kind of money. Frown Well worth it though.

Hey, I bid once when it was under $200. I did that just so I could keep a copy of the final price in my E-bay not won list.

The exact vase is on the Roycroft website by David Kornacki. The Roycroft version was called the Egyptian Flower Holder and dated to around 1910-1916. The interesting thing it that Kipp used a warm caramel color on these vases instead of Roycroft's Aurora Brown. This website has great pictures of all the variations and includes photos of Karl Kipp's vase.

Here is what they say about this style Karl Kipp vase. It is a reprint from the original Tookay catalog--the company founded by Karl Kipp for those that don't know yet.

"VIENNESE VASE of hand-wrought Copper with three handles and panel design. In its substantial, simple beauty and excellence of workmanship this Vase speaks very strongly of the individuality of its maker. It stands 7 inches high."

I think that this vase could go higher than $3000. When it the last time we have seen one of these anywhere? A Karl Kipp sterling bracelet went for close to $2000 recently on E-bay.

Hello Bev,

Yes, I know David and have dealt with him in the past. That was a low estimate, but have seen those sell in the past for $5000-6000 a few years ago.

Did see the Kipp braclet, that was a sharp piece, and not many pieces made in sterling. But worth $2000??
