I would like to take the opportunity to invite all of you to visit my newly created web site dedicated to the metal work done by all of these firms from Syracuse at the turn of the century. Please feel free to email me with any questions or concerns or just to share a story ot two. I designed this site to highlight the work done right here in my home town. If you have pictures of pieces done by these firms please don't be afraid to share them, forward them to me and I'd be glad to list them on my site and give them the proper recognition they deserve. Thanks again and I look forward to talking with all of you.

Ralph,

I would suggest that the benedictstudio.com site is exactly what this forum is all about. The information and presentation is top shelf. Coincidentally I just noted this site, in the previous message thread in this forum, as one of the top reference sites, and Fred responded with his agreement - please see the previous message.

I am delighted with the work and research of all who have started sites such as Jason's. Sites such as his serve to inform and edjucate the public and are a great service to all who admire the work of this important period. I invited Jason to the site and encouraged him to let us all know of his site. I am should hope more individuals would dedicate their time and effort to the better knowledge of the craftsmen and women. My hats off to Jason.

Fred

Sorry to hear about the lost opportunity. What piece did you pass on? I had a great opportunity today and I managed to pick up a Forest Craft Guild box. I talked to my friend over at 1910metal and he was nice enough to post it right away on his site. Check out the Scarab box on the bottom of the boxes section. It was a good day.

I missed out on an OMS vase - a bit of a rookie mistake I guess - still learning but enjoying as I go Smile

Time to hit the sack but if you don't mind I might get around to send you an email with a few questions about this and that. Cheers.

Don't know - saw it at a field show a couple weekends back, and in hindsight it might have just been a humidor missing the lid - I will hit another field show next weekend (100+ dealers) and with luck the same dealer will be there and might still have it (and don't ask the price, I'll keep that to myself Wink )

An OMS humidor without the lid just sold a few days ago on eBay. I hope for your sake it's not the same piece. The one that sold look much like the humidors I have on the site that have the curled feet. Email me if you would like the link to the auction that ended.

Just a note to all of you, I've updated the site and added a bunch of new items and options. Most photos can now be seen in the original size just by clicking on them. I've contacted a few more sources and I'm going to be getting some more great photos posted soon. Enjoy!!!

Jason, after reviewing your web site again I have to agree that it does in fact meet the standards of this forum and welcome you to the group. I can see that you have spent some time compiling it so by all means continue.

Respectfully,

Ralph Jones
