I am new to this forum, and glad to have stumbled onto this site. I have recently purchased an Arts & Crafts home in New Orleans, and this opened up a whole new world for me. I found this interesting award trophy in an estate sale and it struck me as being from the era. Can anyone tell me who made this and whether or not it has any value? The silver overlay reads: PRESIDENT'S PRIZE JUNE CONTEST 1912 PRESENTED TO M MICHAELIS BY JOHN F PATTERSON PRESIDENT OF THE NCR CO FOR 141% OF QUOTA Note: the "ot" in Quota is missing."

Yes it does have value some of these are highly collectible and very desirable. Is there a makers mark anywhere?

If so post a pic of it and maybe we can determine who made it.

I have seen dog show trophys from the period bring in big bucks.

And post pics of your new home we would love to see it.

Your trophy is actually sterling silver on bronze. This process was patented by Otto Heintz. Heintz Art Metalwork is very desirable though the original patina is missing. If you are interested you can check out our book section there is a book written about Heintz and the items made there.

David Surgan is the foremost collector of Heintz and has a website filled with additional information.

Your trophy was made for a salesman at the National Cash Register Co. Heintz made several items presented by NCR.
