I purchased these candlesticks recently at auction, which were attributed as "in the style of Handel" based upon similar lamp bases from that company. I haven't seen the Handel lamps in question that prompted the tenuous attribution, and I was hoping that one of the expert members here might be able to enlighten the situation and firm up any attribution. The style, I would say, is Etruscan-like. The candlesticks are very well made of patinated bronze, but sadly neither has an identifying mark or stamp as far as I can see.

Regards to all,
Jeff

These candlesticks are fabulous! I do not know who the maker is. I have seen similar designs by Tiffany and they were pretty good about marking their pieces. Both appear to be by the same maker.

Congratulations on acquiring them.

Best,
Fred

I think I solved this mystery. The following candelabra is being auctioned with very similar features and construction and it is marked Riviere Studios. So, I think I have a match (see photos for comparison). Anyone have a good reference suggestion for Riviere Studios Arts-Crafts wares? Reprint catalogs, etc?

Jeff

Jeff,
Looks like you found the maker to your candlesticks. Congratulations! It appears that Riviere Studios imitated many of the Tiffany designs. I recently saw a desk set that was a dead ringer for the pierced copper and glass slag that Tiffany made popular. I believe they too were based in New York.
Thanks for sharing what you have found with the rest of us.
