I'm a newcomer to the group. I stumbled upon your forum while trying to find information on a bracelet I found. It appears to be brass or gold, not sure. It has twisted copper, copper bead and silver or nickle embellishments. I dug it up near a hand-dug well on an old farm in PA while gardening and have not had any success on identifying its age or origin. There are no identifying marks on it at all but it does have 'tool' marks. It weighs one ounce and is about 3 inches across. Any help in identifying it or resources to where I could get more information would be most appreciated.
Thank you kindly!

Your bracelet is very nice. I suspect the metal is not gold. I also assume that you have cleaned it since it would probably have turned green having been buried in the earth. I do not recognize the style or design of the bracelet and cannot identify when or where it was made. The 1960's & 70's brought about a great many craftsmen and women who produced items like this and seldom signed them. Perhaps it is a relic of the hippie era.
Sorry I cannot be of further help.

Your input is greatly appreciated, Fred. I did clean it because of the encrusted earth on it. I had contacted a Native American jewelry appraiser from Antiques Roadshow and they said it was definitely not Native American, but local historians seem to disagree. A relic from the hippie era is something that I had not considered but is certainly a possibility. The old farm house where I found it was built in 1917 and had many 'farm hand' tenants over the years.
Thank you again Smile
