Rico,

It does have the style of the Benedict match holder. My concern is the turned brass stem. It looks as if it has been reassembled. It most certainly has been polished.

Fred, you are probably right about the polishing. attached is a pic from the benedict studio website of a hammered brass version.

Rico,

The stem still looks like a lighting fixture part rather than a hammered flared stem as the one on the site.

It was definately a wonderful bargain and a great opportunity to own an item by an important group of craftsmen.

I am currently working on a sequence presentation for the Benedict Website on the processes used to make one of their trays. Of course I can not be certain to the exact sequence. When I finish it and the site publishes it I will provide the link.
