I thought it might be nice to create a list of current metalworking craftsmen and women working in the Arts & Crafts Movement tradition adn style.

My first is Luke Marshall of Delta Copper in New York.

http://www.deltacopper.com/

(perhaps a new forum for these craftsmen and women should be created)

I think this is a great idea. We should actively support current craftspeople and the living arts and crafts movement. I'd like to see us build up the directory, like on this page:

www.arts-crafts.com/market/mktjwl.shtml

We now have the online submission form at:

http://www.arts-crafts.com/market/addlisting.shtml

I would like to see a useful ongoing list of craftspeople and for the website to be widely viewed as the authorative list for each of these different crafts and product categories.

We need to enhance the directory pages to make it easy to add a free listing on that page. It needs to be easy to add new listings.

Having them in one central place has these advantages over posting them here in the forum:

1. Better organized - One easy place to keep them that doesn't get stale or scattered as forum posts tend to do. They will be easier to find.

2. A clear distinction between listings and discussion. Also, this will serve to support clear and fair rules in regards to commercial postings and promotions on the forum.

Does this sound right?

I agree with your ideas. That is a great way of organizing this information. Perhaps I can get some of the craftsmen to participate in the forum discussions. Please feel free to delete this post when all this is done.
