Hello everyone,

I am a new member and thankful to find this forum. I have a vase that I am trying to inquire whether it is truly an early Heintz vase. It is only numbered 3592 D above that it says Pat apld for. The mark I tried to get a good close up of but only turns out fuzzy. I will try to get an acceptable picture of the mark. However, I took a pic of the front of the vase. I am very green at collecting art metal. I collect jewelry avidly and am an artist myself so when I saw this vase I had to have it. I followed my intuition and looking at websites I came to my conclusion of it perhaps being Heintz. Any comments would be much welcomed. Thank you. Lithe

Lithe,

Your vase is a classic Heintz shape and is no doubt by Heintz Metal Arts Shop. The vase is made of a copper alloy that Heintz defined as "bronze" with a pierced sterling design bonded to to the surface. Sometimes the silver design is stamped sterling. The brown color around the sterling design looks like the original patina. The rest looks polished and so it looses a great deal of it's value because of the loss of patina. The numbers are pattern numbers. It is a great piece. Congratulations!

Thank you for your reply to my question Fred! I am very happy to know that I was correct about it being Heintz. I am a little bit sad about the patina but overall I am pleased. Smile

Hi, I was wondering about the value of the heintz vase #3592d. Could you possibly evaluate this item? The patina seems to be correct, not having being polished and the condition is near perfect.

David,

I suggest you search eBay's completed files for a month or so to see what the items you have might be. Depending on size the vase it could be worth $100 on up. A great deal depends on desirability of the design and the color of the patina.

Is the design the same as on the vase belonging to Lithe?
