Here is a piece I found years ago. I was thrilled to find it and surprised not to find the mark of Margaret Twitchell since it is a familiar design in her work.
I believe the enamel medallion is of Boston harbor. Best, Fred (Moderator) http://fredz49.blogspot.com/ |

That's a really nice piece...I don't see enamel work very often that is so well done. The really good pieces are like little impressionistic paintings.

Very beautiful, Fred. Can you provide us with some more details on the Boston Arts and Crafts Society and associated crafts-folk?

The Society of Arts and Crafts of Boston was founded in the late 19th century and was a driving force in promoting the Arts & Crafts Movement in America.
The society is still active juries members regularly. Early membership included some of the best artists and craftsmen throughout the U.S. For a rather comprehensive study of the Society read "Inspiring Reform: Boston's Arts & Crafts Movement". I will post more images as I have time. Hope this helps, Fred (Moderator) http://fredz49.blogspot.com/ |
