Hi, All.

That seems to be a recurring query around here! I've been doing the required research in the dover sears catalog reprints, looking through the alladin scanned catalog online, and searching online city records for deeds and such--no luck!

My house was built in 1910, in Rochester NY. No marks that I've found on lumber or metal stamps. Inside and out, though, it does look very similar to the 1927 Sears Starlight (http://www.searsarchives.com/homes/1927-1932.htm), but obviously the date is all wrong.

Here's a link to my photo album (http://tinyurl.com/a69hl)

Any thoughts?

As a first opinion I would say no on the Starlight, sorry. The dormer is different and the re are 4 porch columns. What is the footprint of your place and do the floorplans come close to a match? Is the 1910 date for sure or anecdotal?
By the way the link to your album doesn't work,at least on my Mac.

Here, try this:Powder Blue Bungalow

I agree. It's very similar to the Starlight, but is clearly not the same house. It does have the four-sided roof and the floorplan is identical. The 1910 date is what is on record with the city, but I supposed it's possible that it is not accurate.

Looks like a MontgomeryWard Tacoma, althought the Tacoma did not have a polygonial bay on the porch. The Tacoma "A" measured 26' across and 33' deep while the Tacoma "B" measured 24' across and 34' deep Both had shallow "bumpouts" on the elevation that provided the dining room with an extra foot or two of width.

Thank you, Dale. Yes, my dining room does have that bumpout (and the bay in the front bedroom). I will take some measurements and see if we're at least a match for the footprint of the Tacoma.

Is there a location you know of online and in print where I can see a catalog reprint? Google didn't turn up anything.

Thanks again!

Me again!

Dale- are you referencing the Wardway Homes 1925 catalog and, if so, do you know whether the Tacoma would have been available in 1910? I'm afraid I don't know much (anything!) about the Ward homes.
