Hello, I live in Bel Air, Maryland and have just purchased a new home. The previous owners said they were under the assumption it is a Sears Kit Home. We haven't moved in yet, but I was wondering if you could tell if it's a Kit House by looking at the outside. I badly want to know what kind of kit home it is, if infact it is a kit home.
Thanks, Gail PS: There is a new addition added to the right side of the house. ![]() |

Gail --
We have quite a few old house plan books at our office. I'm working at home, but will take a look for you Friday. We have Aladdin, Wards, Sears, Bennett, Gordon Van Tine, and Harris books so it may turn up in one of them. Rikki |

It bears a resemblence to the Sears Preston but I don't think it is. Here is a link for you to check out.

I've looked through everything we have and haven't found anything that is a match. Perhaps after you get moved in, you can do some investigation and come up with some clues.

It does not appear to be a Sears Kit Home.
Sorry 'bout that! Rose author, The Houses That Sears Built |
