I have found 2 pictures online of my home. I have record that my home was built in 1929. I have found a picure from 1931 call The belmont and also 1932 and the home is almost identical and it is call the Lynnhaven. I would love to see pictures of anyone who has a home like mine. I live in the Western NY area and purchased this home in December 2003.

What a BEAUTY! The Lynnhaven was one of Sears most popular houses! There are three Lynnhavens in a row in Portsmouth, Virginia (on Grayson Street in Waterview) and there's an awesome Lynnhaven on Historic Route 30 in Pennsylvania that's used as the office for an old Hotel.

Lynnhavens are all over the place! I've got a few pictured in my book, Finding the HOuses That Sears Built.

I am going to challenge the Sears expert and weigh-in with my opinion. This house is exactly like the "Foxcroft" model offered by Bennet Homes of North Tonawanda, New York in the early 1930's. Like all the housing companies they copied popular designs from each other and made slight changes so as to avoid copyright infringement. The Sears Lynnhaven has three windows on the first floor under the dormer, the Foxcroft has four. I will try to get a pciture downloaded so the homeowner can check

Oh man, Dale is right. I am wr...wr...WRONG.

But gosh darn it, it sure looks like a Sears Lynnhaven. In fact, the Lynnhaven and the Foxcroft are nearly identical twins and that's part of the problem (and ongoing challenge!) in identifying these kit homes.

That aside, thank-you Dale, for figuring this out. Smile

Daniel,

I will email you pictures of my house if you want them. Mine is exactly like yours, except the front entrance has been inset and the windows are stained glass (original). For years I have thought this was a Lynnhaven, but now I'm thinking it may very well be a Foxcroft! I have a lot of detailed pics of the interior I've sent Rose Thornton, if you would like to have them, let me know. I don't want to fill up your email with unwanted stuff!

Any more pics of your foxcroft, please forward. Also, if you know where I can get further information about Bennett homes, send that as well (I've ordered the 1920 catalogue).

Thanks!!

Sandi

Rose,

I have discovered more Sears houses along my route. Do you want pics?
