There is one in Ft. Mitchell, Ky and one in Wyoming, a neighborhood in Cincinnati but I don't know the owners.

Sears Avondale was a very popular home. Whilst driving the back roads of Podunk County Illinois, I found an Avondale being used as a FUNERAL HOME! Plus, there's an Avondale in Springfield, IL that is not really an Avondale, but was re-created using the 1920s catalog image to look JUST LIKE an Avondale.

In Wood River, Illinois there are two Avondales side by side, purchased and built by two brothers and their familes.

Recently, I spotted an Avondale in St. Louis along Florrissant Road that I'd driven by several times and missed.

So keep your eyes open and you're going to find quite a few Avondales!

Hi Toby,

I was doing a search of arts and craft style homes and swa your message board posting from a few years back. I happen to love in an Avondale Sears home. It has much of the original features although the exterior was altered a bit. If you need any info feel free to email me.

Shamrock, I love your typo - or is it a typo? I love with my husband in a 1920s Colonial, myself. Smile

Here's a pic of the Avondale, inside and out, as featured at the Illinois State Fair in Springfield, sometime in the 1920s (I'd guess).

This image is from a vintage postcard.

Good Morning Donna Bakke,
Donna, since you are only 94 miles south of my home town of London, Ohio I would like to invite you to come to London during the Strawberry Festival in July where I will take you on a tour of several homes here that are Kit homes as well as some that are in the Arts and Crafts style.

I have been meaning to get some pictures of some of the homes here in London but have been too busy building A&C furniture.

You may contact me via email if you desire and any one else interested in the history of London, Ohio. Here is my email address Ralj7@AOL.com I would be happy to receive an email from you or anyone who would be interested in a guided tour of London by me where I also can show you some of my work when the renovated the down town section of London.

Respectfully,

Ralph Jones
