I have a Sears Crescent model and am getting ready to restore the exterior. I have seen the catalog drawing (it is my current desktop image!) and I have also located a dozen or so examples around the Chicago metro area. I have photographed all that I have found, hoping to get a good idea of how these houses have been preserved, modified etc. and also to try and determine whether my home has been modified substantially from original.

Anyway, looking to learn of more Crescents in the area, and trying to find out what was common exterior treatment for these and many more details. If anyone has more info please reply!

Thanks in advance,

Ben

although not in your area, i thought this may have been a crescent when i saw it, but looking at the catalog against the photo, not so sure now.

i think the columns and maybe the trim around the arch are new. the windows differ from the picture as well, but they look to be replacement. otherwise in good condition.
