Howdy from SW Oklahoma. In the process of buying this home..... there are about a dozen like it here in town. Porch wraps around to the "front side entry". Our first project will be to replace all the windows previous owners saw fit to remove. *sigh* Seen nothing in the Sears catalog or Aladdin books to help ID it. Was hoping someone here could help educate me.

Thanks for the look! Smile

You have wonderful bungalow. Congratulations! It is going to be a lot of work but I can tell that it will be a labor of love.

Did they save the old windows or are you going to have to start from scratch? If you have to buy brand new windows, Anderson has a sweet deal where you pick out any number of stained glass designs that compliment A & C or FLW homes. Other manufactures will let you pick out a mullion design that will also compliment your home.

There are experts on this site who know everything about kit houses. They can really help you pinpoint what you have. I just know architectrual style (way too many years of Art History).

Keep us posted about your new home. I hope that everything is unpainted original wood inside. Can you post any pictures of the interior? I hope that you have a great fireplace.

Bev.

Its not an Aladdin Home, they never had a design like this house (which is a great bungalow). Look at the structural lumber and see if you can find stamped, stenciled or grease pencil assembly marking on floor joists or roof rafters. Thats a sure sign its a kit house. If there are no markings it might be the work of a local builder.
