i have the ardara sears house. i was wondering if anyone else has the ardara too. ive been looking and ive only seen 2 others. one was beautifully restored and completely original. the other was renovated but looks awful!! my house has been renovated too. we tried to keep it as original as possible. the previous owners unfortunately changed the from porch. the roof used to be rounded. from the outside it kinda looks like the cresent. (in fact the librarian of our town had it classified as the cresent) but the floor plan matches the ardara exactly!im not sure if i did the photos right. i took photos of the front and side, inside doors, hinges and moldings.

I've seen a few Ardaras and ONE of them (in Zanesville, Ohio) has the CRESCENT porch on the Ardara body and it appears likely that it was BUILT that way. For whatever reason, many folks just didn't like that rounded Ardara front porch!!

I've found that communities that had a Sears Modern Home Sales Center (such as Zanesville) are more likely to have customized versions of Sears Homes.

The photo of your house certainly looks more like the Ardara. Someone fidgeted with the porch after the house was built I'd *guess*.

In WOod River, IL (which is home to 55 Sears Homes), a tornado came through in the 1940s and damaged the porches of SEVERAL Sears Homes (lined up in a row on 9th Street).

So on these old houses, it's possible that who-knows-what happened to them through the passage of many years.

I'm fairly certain the house I've been renting is an Ardara, the blueprint in the ad is the same, right down to the stair placement leading to the basement.
