Thanks all for your warm welcome!!!!
We closed last week and were happy to find a box sitting in the foyer when we arrived at our house. Not only did the previous owners leave pictures of the original owners and the house when they bought it but also the original blueprints and instructions from Gordon Van Tine. We are so blessed to be only the third owner of our house built in 1921. The house was passed from Mother and Father to their only son who "sold" the house to a family friend, who sold it to us.

As a teacher this time of year is hectic but as I have time I will scan and post copies of blueprints and other interesting items.

My wife and I are trying to decide if we want to strip the paint from the fireplace and try to remove the popcorn from the ceiling. Right now we are just enjoying getting to know our grand old house. Nick

Congratulations! We want to see pics of the new house sometime soon.

Original GVT blueprints are very rare. They were the property of GVT and were too be returned once construction of the house was complete. GVT would let you buy the prints but they were not cheap, typically $25 to $50.00.

Instruction books are even rarer. Like blueprints they were the property of GVT and were typically returned.
