Hi Rosemary and others...new to this forum although I know you (Rosemary) from my days in Elsah. (Dan Schaefer here) I think I may have a Sears kit home. I'm selling my concrete block four square home in Viroqua, WI and recently discovered it may be a Sears home. I haven't found a "smoking gun" of markings on beams, etc. although I understand that doesn't rule this out. There's another similar home in the area the owner claims is a Sears home. A railroad used to pass a block from the house and there are supposedly a few other Sears homes in the area. I've also read that Sears didn't ship the blocks but rather sold a form to make the blocks. The home seems very similar models 52, 8203 and 8198 although the exact floorplan seems to be slightly different from each of those. Here is a link to the house on the realtors website http://therteam.com/display_property.asp?mlsid=1012373&landuse=Residential. I look forward to hearing back. My direct email is danschaefer@principia.edu. Thanks in advance for any info.
