we have been considering building a new bungalow so i have spent some time browsing sites looking for recent projects. i found a company that have many good plans.

the company is homepatterns.com. the plan is for the adkinson model. it is a dead look alike for the avalon. the layout is not a copy, they have tried to "update" the plan to serve modern tastes....oh well...

The house looks very nice from the outside but are you sure that you want company to come right into your kitchen?

of the places i have found offering "updated" bungalow plans, few have the character of original houses. this is a good expample.

the Bungalow Company has probably the best "authentic" plans.

I think that's *wrong* for this company to copy an old floor plan without giving due credit to the original.

while i do agree with rose i understand that anything published in the u.s.a. prior to jan.1/1923 is in the public domain so perhaps they feel no obligation in that regard. for anyone looking to build a new/old house that is a great site, good find don.
