.... I was just wondering if anybody knew of a resource with pictures of any of these homes as they are today.

Thanks,
David

careful with the possible directing people to your products...not that people can't figure it out from your log-in name, but advertising and/or redirecting is a no no..thanks...SC

SmileSorry,I don't know of any such books.
I used to have Practical Bungalows and Cottages by Fred T.Hodgson.One of the houses in the book
I found right down the road from me in Cibolo,Texas. On Interstate 35 North about I guess 2 or 3 miles north of New Braunfels, there is the Shadowlawn,a house from Aladdin Homes. It still looks like the house shown in my reprint of Aladdin Homes from Dover Publications. There is another house between Schertz and Cibolo that could be an Aladdin. At least it looks like one from the Aladdin catalogs on line at the Clarke Historical Library website in Bay City, michigan.
There are a few other bungalows there mixed in with some trailer houses.I wonder if years ago there was an attempt to build a bungalow court.
There was a Sears house in McQueeny at the corner of FM78 to Seguin and FM725 to New Braunfels. This has been moved. There are also a couple of bungalows in McQueeny that might also have come from Sears, but would need to do further reseach.
I have also found a E.W.Stillwell house in
New Braunfels, and a George F.Barber in Gonzales and Waelder.Barber is most known for his victorian designs and worked out of Knoxville,Tn.A reprint of one of the Sears catalogs, called Houses in A Box, shows a Sears House in New Braunfels.
I used to own a Harris Brothers catalog from 1916 or 17,that mentioned a house in Boerne.
The best thing would be to buy some of these books from Dover Publications or ebay ,etc. and just drive around. That's how we found these places by driving around.
There is an All State Insurance office in a bungalow in Seguin. This particular bungalow can be found in the book,Journal Bungalows, published by Ladies Home Journal magazine.
I need to get a digital camera and drive around to some of these places again and take photos, and post them here and on other bungalow websites.
When i retire from my job, maybe i need to take up photography and drive around documenting these places for a book, but with the way things are right now,who can afford to retire.
