I have a mystery ceiling fixture in my stair hall. I understand the house was full of tiffany lamps which were removed at some point, but this one (for whatever reason) was not removed. Any ideas? I will post a couple of photos, one from the side, one from below.

Good Evening Candice,
Looking in my books I find that it is in the Victorian style, though I can not find one exactly like it it has the same characteristics.

Respectfully,

I have looked endlessly at neoclassical lighting on the internet, and have even queried some lighting experts who advertise there. I did get one reply -- a guy who thought I was trying to sell the light and who said he wasn't interested. I think the lamp has both neoclassical and mission characteristics. I haven't seen anything like it either -- the brasswork is heavier than any neoclassical lights I've seen (more "mission" it seems) and I haven't seen a bowl with that kind of glass.

Good Morning Candice,
The globe is known as milk glass with a touch of green sheen with in and is accomplished by pouring the green die into the glass as it is shaped by either the blowing method or the use of a mold. Not being an expert on glass I am not sure how this one was made but by the looks of it it must have been made using a mold in order to get the sharp corners that are showing.

The globe itself is a beautiful piece of work.
I am intrigued by its shape and color.

Respectfully,

Ralph Jones

Thanks Ralph, for the useful information. Do you mind if I quote you on my blog when I post the pictures of the light?
