You're probably better off trying to find brass through your local yellow pages - Specialty Metals, or something like that, rather than a web source; you might even be able to just buy scrap pieces for next to nothing

Grizzly power tools (www.grizzly.com) also makes tools for metal working.. anyways, you can purchase smaller sheets of brass etc. from them... Another method you may check into is using aluminum.. It is easy to work with, and will not rust.. Put a thin coat of exterior poly on it to take away some of the sheen.. Not sure how well the poly would stick to it, but it is worth a shot... it would give more of a dull tin or lead look.. ~Rob House of yesteryear |
