Attached is an image of a lamp I acquired about 5 years ago. I have not been able to find any makers mark. Does anyone have any thoughts on who the maker might be?

Can't help with a firm maker name, but it's likely not a piece from mass production based on the assumption that urban markets were all electric, and that it is more likely designed for a smaller rural market where electricity was scarce. That being said, there are plans in the 1910 Popular Mechanics reprint called "Mission Furniture, How to Make It" for a similar oil lamp base/holder, but made from oak, so there was clearly a demand for such a thing.

Great lamp, by the way !

Hello Aclose,

First of all, let me start out by saying that is a very nice period lamp. May I ask if the lamp is copper or Iron. Because it has much of the detailed scrolled work that you find on some of the early Onondaga Metal Shops or Benedict Studios. That may be a point to start your research.

Best of luck,
Mark

Hi Mark

The lamp seems to be entirely of iron.
