having just removed the dining room chandalier in our 1920 bunglow to rewire and also remove the many layers of paint on it i find it's made of cast brass with a silver plate over it, as we have nothing else of silver in the home i was wondering if this was a true upgrade for fixtures from this time? where would one look for any casting marks to see whom the manufacturer may have been? thanks all.

I acquired a Nouveau table lamp last year that is silver plate. I also had a Deco slipshade fixture in the house that I replaced that was marked Lincoln. It seemed to have had silverplate over brass. I've never seen an Arts & Crafts fixture with silverplate. We'd love a picture. Here are mine including the dining room replacement.
