I recently bought a house from a very elderly man (95 yr-old?). Anyway, throughout the house he had hung these Tiffany style hanging lamps. we have removed the lamps as they would bump us in the head, and we are now attempting to sell them. It would be a shame though to ignorantly sell a unique or one-of-a-kind lamp.

Can anyone here tell me anything about this kind of lamp. I know nothing of lamps so this quite possibly could just be a junk lamp from Walmart for all I know. I don't think it is though since on one of the lamps there is a sticker that says "Nova Import Co E72326" (and a couple other digits I can't recall at the moment)

Does anyone have any insight into where this lamp may have come from? I googled "Nova Import Co" and found one website with the company name in a list of suppliers. i called the lighting company out in CA and the man told me that Nova had gone out of business a few years back, but that everything the sold was unique.

I will try to post a higher res photo when I get home later.

Thanks for any help.

AVSteve,

Welcome to the forum.

Your lamp looks to be from the late 60s - early 70s. Personally, I'd sell it on craigslist as a mid-century item.

Yes, this lamp was made in the 70's in Berkeley by one of the large shops that was producing lamps to satisfy the big demand of that period. It may have been sold as a do it yourself kit, with the lead and glass pre-cut. Another big producer was New Rennaisance Glass, which was my brother's business.
