We are currently redoing our living room and dinning room. What would look good for wall hangings. We have several orginal Parish Prints. What kind of items would have hung in the arts and crafts (mission) home.

Thanks
Andy and Jane

Here's a place to get started understanding the 'Crafstman' home style. This is a web copy of Gustav Stickley's Crafstman Home book from 1909

The Craftsman

there are lots of craftspeople out there who do interiors and specific treatments.

Andy & Jane:
Just ran across your post regarding wall hangings.
I am a textile designer specializing in period design hand embroidered linens in the A&C style, Art Nouveau, and Art Deco Moderne.

I am currently creating art nouveau needlework (about the size of decorative tiles) to be framed in lovely Craftsman Frames. These would be a very nice addition in wall art. I can also design & embroider linen wall hangings. They are made with tabs to hang on a rod, just like a banner or small curtain. I can create these types of hangings with Art Nouveau or William Morris motifs. I use alot of Mucha drawings for this type of work.

If you do some artwork yourself (believe me, a simple doodle looks GREAT for some reason), you can clip them using those cheap alligator clips and hang them from a panel on the wall. Or you can laminate some letters from home or some vacation pictures and hang them. Anything that gives your guests an idea of who you are and not just what "looks good". My suggestion only. Luck!

Good Morning Linda Tomlin,
I edited the latter part of your post above as it was a form of advertising and violates our terms of policy.

Thank you for your cooperation in the future.

Don't forget to consider stenciling, too. I was going through some old photos and came across the stenciling designs at the Hackley House in Muskegon, MI.
