My husband and I just bought a 1917 Arts and Crafts bungalow. While we are excited to do some restorative work and learn more about the house, we are very sad that ALL of the original molding has been painted over. Before we have a chance to expose the original wood - what color should we paint the trim? To paint it white just seems a shame. Right now it is gray, and looks drab. We are thinking about a brown or beige color..... Thanks for any input.

Take a look at the Sherwin Williams paint website. They have an 'arts and crafts' section that shows various craftsman color combinations that may help you look at some options...

Hi Sungirl74
The arts and crafts colors are based on the Quaternary color scheme. Such as "coral" or "plum". You use this just like any other color system, complementary, split complementary, triad. “Fun stuff” Sean |
