When in Spain recently, I saw some ornate hangings that decorated doors/arches etc and where hung from narrow poles. Unable to ascertain what they are called and how they are made. Has anyone any information about these lovely items? Reply: suuwoo2@aol.com

I believe you are talking about portieres. These hangings can be made of heavy drapery fabrics,
