Hi! We are in the process of upgrading our bedroom furniture, and have decided to also paint the walls & ceiling. We plan on keeping our trim white. I'd like to get some opinions . . .

What we'd like to do is add a picture rail (very simple lines) around the room (about 2-2.5 feet from the ceiling), and paint the below that in Eddie Bauer Craftsman Bayleaf and above the rail (and including the ceiling) in Eddie Bauer Craftsman Cattail. Or should we flip the colors?

Should we paint the picture rail in our white trim color? Or the EB Bayleaf?

Thanks,

Ken

Hello Friend,
If it were me I would paint the ceiling lighter then the walls and the shelf white to match the woodwork as this will make the objects stand out on the shelf better. After all what is the reason to display the items on the shelf if you are not wanting to use them as a focal point.

Respectfully,

Ralph Jones
