I have a nice matte green jar with lid made by Annie Karakaian 1972. It is about 10" tall. Does anyone know anything about the maker or piece. It is fairly heave for it's size. Thanks

To bikermanboy...the green pottery jar you posted online in june,09 was made by my mother. She was active as an artist in pencil, charcoal, watercolors, oils and clay. She made a number of elaborate pieces when she was young, but as she aged her pieces became smaller and simpler. In the 70's and 80's she made hundreds of birds, mostly small enough to fit in one hand. She was active as an artist from the late 1940's to the early 1980's. She has had her name attributed to wood carvings (which she was not into). Some of her works were sold (by her), some given as gifts, and some stolen and many pieces destoyed and/or thrown away because of severe damage. She did more clay than anything else from the late 60's to early 80's, she started doing clay pieces as early as the early 50's, as her main focus was drawing and painting at that time.
