A very rare Mostique pot with a repeated pattern of a blue-bearded iris, is selling on E-bay today.

The design is stunning. I have never seen this pattern before. The iris shape is very stylized and dramatic.

There are 18 bidders and the price is almost $200. It is a wonderful piece.

Bev..

Here is a close up of the other floral design. You can really see the flower in this design--the tall almond shaped leaves, striking purple/blue glaze for the flower pedals and a brilliant yellow for the fuzzy interior. With this image, you can really "see" the artist's inspiration.

Pretty cool piece. I wonder what it will sell for in the next couple of hours?

Bev.

The vase sold for $202.50 with twency bids. That is a very good price for a Roseville Mostique pot.

Hi Bev,

That was a pretty good deal for that size Mostique Jardiniere even with the minor fleabite to the rim. The glaze looked clean with no crazing or glaze pops which is common for that line. Very sweet piece. I always liked the Mostique line.

I like them too. Here are some other designs.

Roseville Pottery began production in 1890 (1890 - 1954)

These pieces that your seeing here are from the early years.

Rosevile Mostique Style arrow head design.

Here is a collection of Mostique Style vases.

Now the only way to know these is to become familiar with them.

I recently saw a listing for a set of Mostique vases in a vast variety of sizes. All were in the yellow tulip design. I own two modest bowls. With cats in the family it is always risky to own too much pottery.
