I purchased what I thought was an off white ceramic cookie jar. On the botton it is marked, R.R.P. Co. Roseville, Ohio #1500 USA When I put the cookie jar in my dish washer to clean it the off white paint appeared to be peeling off and there is a bright yellow color under this with what appears to be painted white flowers with a black center and stem. What exactly is this, any ideas what era this is from? Thank you, please reply to carriemattson@massin-ins.com

Have you had any luck in terms of locating ages, or significance of this item? I too also had a jar that was handed down through family and am trying to determine location, era and anything other of it as it is numbered.

THe st. michael's thrift shoppe also has a white pitcher with blue stripes and R.R.P. Co. ROseville, O. U.S.A. 5303-1. printed on the bottom. We dont have any information about era, time period, worth, etc, but we're looking around. There are also pencil marks on the bottom of the pitcher that read RL F 1590. 1590 looks like it could be a price marking $15.90

did some minor research on the pitcher (above). not sure if this will help you any, but I found a website with several RRO CO Roseville Ohio products. most are dated c. 1960s and from $25-95. hope this helps. http://pages.tias.com/8731/InventoryPage/1546777/2.html

RRP Roseville Pottery
Page 1 • 2

RRP Roseville Pottery Co., (Robinson-Ransbottom), Roseville, Ohio. Started in business before 1900, and has just recently gone out of business. (Someone e-mailed me with an on-line notice of their closing; I called the company and they have indeed closed). They were one of American's great old pottery companies that made stoneware, spongeware and art pottery. All RRP is collectible, especially now that they have closed. Their pottery is heavy, well-made, attractive, durable, affordable, and quite functional pottery. Check the Kitchen Collectibles categories, (titled: Pitchers and Utensil Holders for more great RRP Roseville items!)

I have found a cookie jar that looks like a parakeet wearing glasses and a cap holding a book entitled cookie stories. It has the marks RRP and roseville ohio no.369 usa on the bottom, can anyone tell me where I can find a value for this? Thanks

I also have the cookie jar that you say looks like a parakeet with glasses and cookie stories. We have always thought that it was an owl though. It has been passed down through the family and I would be interested to know what it is worth also.

Design tip:
Instead of using clay tile for a backsplash in the kitchen, go with glass tile, as shown in the Hickory Ridge model. Eye-catching glass tile adds an artsy, modern touch to a traditionally homey room. The model has 4- by 4-inch tile. Other choices, available in all colors of the rainbow, include mosaic tiles and 2- by 2-inch tiles.

glass decoratice tile

I was just recently given a sugar bowl and creamer pitcher by my grandmother that are marked RRP #1863 Roseville, OH. Any ideas on where to look to find out what they are worth? Definitely worth more to me, but wouldn't want them yard saled for next to nothing when I am gone.

I have a 9" tall 5" wide RRP, Roseville (robinsone-ransbottom) rectangular vase with Chinese letters down the side and a gorgeous dragon on both front and back in relief. The vase is off-white and high gloss. Besides the RRP CO Roseville, OH incised marking on the underneath of the vase, there is also the incised number 272. Can anyone tell me the date of this or any other info onmy piece?

I have a 10" garden pot from R.R.P Co, #1400. It has a very light green glaze. Around the bottom is a pattern of what looks like a sunburst - at the apex is a circle. Around the top is the same pattern, only upside down. From the pattern, it looks like it dates from either the 30s or 40's. Can anyone help me date and value it?

The Wise Owl Cookie Jars, were very popular in the post-war(WWII)era. The one, which I own, was a wedding gift to my parents, back in 1956. If you check out E-Bay, you can find the closing bids on R.R.P. Co. pottery ranging anywhere from $10US - $100US. Since I'm not really certain that is a very accurate method of evaluating piece of pottery, I'm still in search of a legitimate appraiser.

I am closing this post due to bot spam. When this gets resolved I will reopen the topic. Please feel free to post a new RRP Co topic if needed.
