this platter belonged to my wifes great grandmother. we got it from her mother yesterday. dont have any idea of the age of where it came from.

the design is classic A&C. platter is 17 1/2 " x 14 "

this will look nice on a plate rail.

...it has a mark..so there must be a way to identify it Smile

..and I hear semi-vitreous is so much better than non-vitreous Big Grin, whatever vitreous means.. Cool

Nice design along the border and it should look great on your sideboard.

Did not find that mark in Lehner's book on American Pottery. Probably English and maybe from the '20s.

i did a quick search online and actually found the mark.

the company is Knowles Taylor Knowles company of East Liverpool Ohio. this mark dated from 1890-1905

it appears they were a very respectable company best know for a line called lotus ware...one site called it the best porcelain ever made in the us.

isnt the internet wonderful...
