Hi all,
I have bought beautiful door trim, it looks like antique marble and is made of some sort of plaster, it is VERY beautifull and very REALISTIC. For my hallway I would like to have a different design, but the company ( Canadian ) tells me it is too expensive to develop something like this for only 1 or 2 persons. So I want to try it thru this forum. My question is : Is someone interested and willing to give it a try, but of course I would like to have an estimate of the costs before, it is for 2 small doors. The design can stay simple, but I would like to have it BIGGER...WIDER... Here is the site that shows what I mean : http://www.design-daveluy.com Txs in advance Marcel. |

Hello Marcel,
Several years ago I used to be the mold maker for the Otis Elevator Company here in London, Ohio. There is no doubt that I could make the molds for you in the shape you desire and then you could mix and pour plaster of Paris into the molds and make your own molding of any design you would like. Also I could make them of any width you desire. Then what you would have to do is to grease the mold with Vaseline and then pour your plaster Paris and when it is dry and hardened just gently turn it over and it will fall out on the table with the design that you chose. Then you would clean the Vaseline excess off the piece and allow to finish drying for at least 24 hours. You even could use a rasp or file to help clean up and places that did not come out cleanly. Let me know by email at Ralj7@AOL.com Respectfully, Ralph Jones http://hometown.aol.com/ralj7/index.htm |
