We just moved into our 1900's bungalow a couple months ago. The living room is VERY much ORIGINAL.

We have a wonderful fireplace but there are two "holes" on each side of the fire box were it appears there were inserts.

The wife and I were wondering where we might have tile made to fill these holes?

We are thinking of our own design so we can add our finger prints to the home. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure if you ever got an answer to your question, but one very good Arts and Crafts style tile maker is Joshua Johnson of Florida, selling on ebay under jmjtiles. Although not really custom, he makes many sizes that would be appropriate for a fireplace, and he has used custom color glazes for me in the past. Good luck!

Can you zip me a picture of the tile? A frien of mine just took out 2 fireplaces from his apartment house.. The university purchased and plans to tear them down.. I have a box of tile sitting at the shop..
