A couple thoughts: my understanding is baked Ohio clay is yellow not reddish and it would be helpful to post a pic of the piece including the bottom. Mac

Nevermind, I guess that didn't work. I will try to start a photo album with pics of the vase and mark.

Thanks for posting the pics. I have checked my books and came up zero. My gut says studio pottery although I could be very wrong here. The mark reminds me of marks I have seen on a site of English pottery marks. You may want to look at:

Thanks for your help Mac. I did look at that UK pottery marks site, and it wasn't there. I'll try my luck at researching studio pottery marks. Thanks again!
